Boone-My Anatolian Unicorn

Boone was a good boy tonight. His greatest weakness is meal time. He wants to get up in our business while we eat dinner (I suspect this guy historically has something to do with it…)

Boone has finally accepted that I will NOT allow him to watch Randy eat, and that he is supposed to lay down quietly. (He usually fails and winds up crated with his own dinner)

Tonight he successfully laid down next to me the whole time I was eating, only sitting up once but going right back down when instructed and other than a little moaning, remained quiet.
He got big reward for it
Then he did it again while I had some ice cream.
If he keeps this up, he may get to start doing public access again soon!

"Moaning"...!

Ron was always treating Cleo, despite me asking him not to. She remained a beggar until she passed.

My Tirzah could lie next to the table during meals, or even under it. She knew she'd get something after, if she was patient.

I was always very strict about begging. All my dogs knew they were not allowed in the kitchen when I was cooking & would lay with their toes JUST crossing the edge of the tile. They would lay across the room staring soulfully while we ate. But if I glanced their way they would drop their heads with a thump 'I wasn't begging! I wasn't even looking!' 🤣
But I'd be HARD pressed to not sneak your Boon treats.... look at that face! 😍

Bwahahah!

My Pooh Bear knew she wasn't supposed to beg. I'd look her in the eye, ask "Are you BEGGING?" and she'd turn her head to the side so quickly we'd joke he gave herself whiplash!

Boone did really well with his head down this morning. It will be interesting if he can convince me to take him Tuesday. It may come down to how I feel, am I too tired to deal with the tension that still accompanies using a Service Dog still in training or do I just want to not be dependent on the walker/wheelchair? If I need those I have no reason to take Boone as the advantage of using him is strictly mobility.
