Break away halters for minis

We are in dire need of a break away halter for a mini donkey. I know that horses can break the leather on a break away halter and get to safety... but seriously... can a mini??? It seems the break away halter for a 200-300 lb mini is made the same way as a break away halter for a 1000 lb horse. I don't get it.

We are in a situation where we need to keep a halter on our mini donkey gelding when he's in the pasture... ASAP. What is our safest option??
