Lol I like it lol. They currently eatting pellets corn and with goat milk its pig cereal lol oh and one duck egg because it broke.

Wow those pigs are so small. Our piglets we sold at 8 weeks old were nearly the same size as those little ones.

Ok I know these are Kunekune so smaller breed and slower growth. From looking up info on Kunes and other people's experience and my pig experience. I would say they appear to grow almost half as fast as the new breeds, bit slower still. So If I do some math, double my pigs age, divide by 6 then multipy times 5(size difference) that should be sorta accurate.

So with that formula I would say the littlest ones are likely almost 4 months old. I would say the prego female is 7 months or older, being julana she could really be a year old or 2yrs old or 3 etc. Our first mini Boar was about 3yrs old and only 40lbs still.

That would probly be an ok system for guessing age based on size...but I don't wanna sound harsh but those pigs that are all or mostly all julianna I would get rid of. I don't know your goals with your pigs however I can tell you breeding in juliana to pigs that are suppose to be 225lbs at 12 months is not going to work. A full size julianna is only 35-40lbs, pigs never stop growing but julianas slow down extremely after hitting full size. So your talking pigs from around 50lbs to maybe 130lbs at a year old. Thats a big if and I doubt they would get that size honestly. You can make julianas bigger by over feeding them but it tends to turn into all fat not more meat.

Like i said I don't know your goals but if your trying to have butcher pigs, I would encourage a different route, even if your after kunes.

The Juliana are going to go to markets. Atleast the two adult females. The pregnant sow is extremely agressive to our other gilt (potmix of some kind she also market bound more them likely) i 'll end up keeping two females (the smaller part kunekunes) as away to breed to kunekune for now. My kids are attached to one the boar the most. The two females we keeping are the two youngest. One is extremely friendly (she wants to be in your lap expecially if there is good involved) the other clearly has kunekune as she has a single tassel so i am keeping her she not very docile she is more afraid of our hands. I been working with her and finally got to pet her once. That's duff thats squeezing through the cattle panel she actually almost got stuck that time in the past they been able to pretty much run through it. Sparkles her sister can still do that but she was the smallest of them all.

You know if you are wanting to do the kunekune for meat.....you could keep the litttle juliana girls as pets for your kids. Downsid and trouble is, when they go into heat, the boar is going to want to get to them and they are going to want to get to him likely. So good pens.

Only problem is I have to wait awhile before I cane buy a female kunekune most around us for (as piglets) 400-1600$ very few are under that. It will be something i save for. And eventually i get a better quality boar as well but for now i make do with what we have for meat purpuse.

Can I ask why you picked Kunes?

Before I looked up their pricing i was looking for a smaller then my durocs because my dh doesnt like the larger breed pigs (he is scared of pigs). My durocs were extremely docile even my boar they thought they were all pigs. And I got pregnant so he wanted them gone to prevent anything since he knew i would more then likely still go in the pen at some point. He likes the boar. They he doesnt freak him out but i am pretty sure it's mostly because they don't look like normal pigs that also remind him of the Russian boars we have running amuck here. I was mostly looking for a very docile pig that didn't get over 300lbs to help him to be okay with them. However v told us about old spot pigs and we probably look at those maybe. He said he think about it but we going to keep gruff because dh and the kids expecially my four year old are in love. My 4yr old doesn't like to talk much so i am hoping this weird connection he has with gruff helps him. If he could have that pig in his bed he would. He obessesd with him and the feeling seems to be mutual gruff follows him everywhere.

Oh before i forget cause the kids will be waking and my brain will be distracted. But four of the pigs have started coughing not alot but they had a few coughing spells enough that i am watching very closely. They have no other symptoms they act normal running, eating drinking getting muddy. I am think allergies and maybe dust??? My calf coughed everyonce in awhile as well. And I been suffering from allergies as well so yeah. I did worm them recently as well. So there is that. What are your thought the cough is a dry sounding cough.

KuneKunes can get up to 400lbs  just takes a long time like 2-3yrs.
American Guinea Hogs top out at 300lbs, might look into some of those as they are also short around 2ft tall. Really good for homesteading from what I've heard.
Idaho Pasture pigs could be an option but you would have replace your boar like every 2yrs(for size), sows only max at 350lbs.

Really if your going from Duroc to any of the mid-sized pigs he should think they are small, they are like half size of a 3-4yr old duroc.

Well honestly sometimes pigs just cough and its nothing. If they start coughing regularly or their appetite declines, i would look at treating for pneumonia.
