FWIW, our national association has a special program that awards high honors for cows that calve every year (a certain number of days) with babies that weigh a certain amount (and I think gain a certain amount). Sheila's out, technically, because she had too long a span between her first and second calf, but if Bridgit is throws big gaining calves and we breed her back faithfully every year within that specified time frame, she could potentially qualify. Who knows, though?

(Plus, the sire of both our 2008 is a 2-year old, and this is his first batch of babies, so it's helpful for the breeder/owner to know how big the babies are that the bull sires. He was surprised by our 80 pounder.)
