Hey everyone!
We had our two newest boys wethered at the vet on the 5th. The vet cut them and left them open, everything was great. Both boys are acting chipper as can be, great appetites. One boy looks "closed", like the incision has healed. The other, slightly larger boy, has what looks like a pink tissued piece poking out slightly. Looks tubish, I'm assuming that's the part that the vet cuts but I'm wondering if we should be worried that it is still exposed after a few days, or if this is a normal healing time and it will eventually heal shut/retract in? It looks clean and he is just as active as the other.

I don't know, but from a basic first aid approach, I'd kinda keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected... maybe put a little triple antibiotic on it, but other than that just give it a little more time. It's only been three days. Anyone else? @Goat Whisperer @OneFineAcre @babsbag @TAH @Southern by choice ?

Have never cut a goat so no help other than what you are doing...watching it.

It seems in my part of the country everyone bands their goats.
