Ok here is a little history about my goat experience...very little. I have a yearling and ff does, doeling (6 weeks old) on the side. Last summer I got my buck as a yearling and he ran with my does all summer(2 second year freasheners-alpines) and it really helped tame him down as he really did jumped off the walls when I came near. Last winter he bred the does I had and I had twins out of both of them. I have since then decreased and increased my herd so what I listed above is what I have for girls.

Well for the last week Roscoe (my buck) has been a real creap..Chasing the girls around and such. Not behavior I have ever seen out of him. My yearling is a boer doe and my ff pair are Oberhaslis. He did breed the boer doe today...so that maybe explains some of his attitude. He won't leave my Obers alone. I just got my pair 2 weeks ago and just this week put them in with the others. He never chased my boer doe around or followed her. My ober shouldn't come into heat because of the move to my home? My girls waited until late last fall. Am I always going to have to keep him separated now that he has figured out he is a boy. I have been trying to find out all I can about buck behavior but haven't found that "magic" site yet.

I don't have a lot a room at my place to keep everybody separated but I may need too I guess. Suggestions of sites and advise are really appreciated.

You are probably going to need to keep him separated, or at least be prepared to do so if his behavior continues.

No magic answers to buck behavior, individual animals behave differently.

We keep ours separated all the time anyway, but they respond to does differently when we put them together to breed.

One may chase them endlessly. Another just gives them a sniff every now and then and patiently waits until they are ready.

My buck is a continuous pain. he runs rough shod over my does all the time, so I separated him.
