butting show heifer?

hello there! I have a heifer who just turned one and is about 890 lbs. she has always been around people and I show her once/twice a month at shows around my state. She is very calm and allows you to pet her, walk her, etc. but she keeps on head butting me. it hurts. i don't know whether she is trying to "play" or if I need to punish her for doing it to me. it's weird because soon after she will stop and lick me. if you know what I should do and if I can fix this, please respond!!!

My Jerseys do they same. She could be playing or using you as a scratching post. What's her body language like when she does it? Happy?

it almost seems like she is scratching herself on me. but she moves forward as she does so. it kinda hurts me when she does it.

That sounds like she uses you as her own personal scratching post! You can just push her head away if it bothers you.
