I want to train an alpaca for 4-H and there is no one in my area that brings their lama to the county fair. Since no one brings their lamas to the county fair, there is no place to house llamas or alpacas. The available barns are the sheep barn, goat barn, and horse barn. I heard from the person I am leasing from that alpacas can catch diseases from goats and sheep. Is this true? I don't want to be responsible for any serious illnesses/deaths of the alpacas. Any help would be appreciated. Which barn would be best and why? Thank you.

Yes, there is something called meningeal worm that can kill them. But as long as you have the right wormer that you give monthly they should be fine.
