Can someone ID this photo as a “grass” or “weed?”

We live on 10 mostly wooded acres in the Appalachian foothills. We have a few sketchy patches of grass (using that term loosely). We’d like to encourage them to expand, so we can support a couple of grazing animals better.

This photo shows a section of “grass” that is growing lushly. The rabbits seem to enjoy it, and we were wondering if sheep would too. If so, we would like to continue encouraging it to expand as much as possible.

So, I guess, two questions-

1. ID on this plant

2. If it is a good one, how to encourage it.

Thanks!

Does it have tiny blue flowers? Are the stems jointed and break away easily? It looks like creeping Charlie which is an invasive nuisance. I have it on my place and hate it. The sheep will eat it, but not enough to kill it or even put a dent in it. It spreads out and takes over. Look up pictures of creeping Charlie and see if that’s what you have.

So far, I’ve seen no flowers. This is our first summer here, so maybe they are yet to come.

It's a weed but has some nutritional value to stock if you can make them eat it. So far the sheep will eat that last of anything. I forget the name of it but it's taking over our whole land, no matter if in shade or sun.
