Be careful what you wish for. 🫣
I wanted to be a trainer. I worked hard to get the pay bump that comes with that & to get 2 people skilled & confident enough to be able to do this job (Beamer Op) on their own. I THOUGHT I would be training people to do my job.

Yesterday I was told that there is another new crew member starting on our shift.
Here's how the plan is expected to go. My current trainee - who ran the Beamer alone Mon & Tues nights while I worked nearby in the creel - tests out next Thurs AM. I expect it to go fine.
Then she will run the Beamer while I train the new person in the creel. 😳 I barely remember MY training on the creel! That was LAST April/May & it was while I was also training for the Beamer at the same time..... with the goal of getting out of the creel as quickly as possible. 😱 I can manage to keep it running with only a few minor issues but I don't feel that I am by ANY means qualified to teach someone how to do that!
We're looking at a MINIMUM of 5-6 weeks to get the new person certified (IF I can brush up on my rusty skills fast enough to stay ahead of them!) I just finished 3 shifts in the creel & I'm sooo sore.... I can't imagine weeks & weeks 😭 But... I'm The Trainer on my shift.... this is not what I thought I was signing up for.

OH! And it gets better. Once I get the new person certified in the creel I'm supposed to then finish my current trainee's creel training AND possibly start this new person training on the Beamer. HOW I'm supposed to train Karen in the creel WHILE running the Beamer & training the new person on it...... well they said "we'll work it out then".
And IF I can somehow manage to pull all of this off and still be able to walk on this bum hip & knee then I might be moved to days.

😡😭 rant over....

Time for coffee & checking on the chicks.

You can do it. I have faith in you and your abilities to pull a magic trick out of the hat. Add hard work and determination, that you already have an abundance of, and you got this.

Bum hip and knee….. Arnicare. It comes in a gel or cream rub. I prefer the cream. Instant pain relief from soreness, arthritis, bruises, and lasts 4 hours. Also comes in pill form that you place under your tongue. I’ve even given my dogs the pills when they got bit by copperheads.
Arnicare is how I survived years of limping around because my knee was shot and rubbing bone on bone. I used Arnicare after knee replacement surgery for pain relief instead of the hydrocodone. It’s herbal, homeopathic and no side effects.

I use one ibuprofen & one 8hr acetaminophen if I'm having a bad day -- but, rarely have heavy pain, more overuse soreness. And it's not every, except some weeks when I have heavy resets. 🤫 It's something to be addressed. Hard to work, or walk, with leg issues. Shoulders here.

Thanks @Baymule, for the encouragement & the info.
I had a step tracker in my Amazon cart while I decided if I really wanted it... adding arnicare & getting it on the way. Also adding extra vita D to my daily morning vitamins. I read that joint pain can be related to low levels & I'm sure that after months of being nocturnal I'm probably very low.

I had a credit available on my Audible account and a friend recommended that I check into a book about Brite Line eating. I've been listening to it. Basically it's the same 'ol thing - flour & sugar are addicting. But it explains what exactly is happening in the brain along with meal plans & an online community for support. If I can get some of this weight off, surely I'll get some relief from hip/knee/ankle & foot pain. After each day in the creel, I'm having trouble sleeping until I can get the pain to ease off.

I feel for you... the pain can be debilitating. New knees and no complaints now except that the strength is not the same. Trying some new exercises as I got lazy this winter and put on some pounds. Now will take extra effort to get it off... I also need to lose a bunch. Trying this "chair yoga since getting down on the floor is okay but getting UP off the floor is NOT. So doing the chair yoga thing... already sore but think it is something I can deal with. popped up on the phone and decided to go with it finally. Also another one that pops up is dancersize or something... geared for us "mature in our prime ladies"...... like I don't get enough on the farm... but it is using different muscles than the ones that we use day to day and are accustomed to that particular stretching.
Of course, if I could schedule it in to go get LOOSE COWS in every morning, like THIS MORNING.... I might not need the chair yoga stuff... lots of stretching and jogging and stuff to block ones that want to go the other way for the green grass...:gig:idunno:th:th:th
