I need help. My chicks hatched last night and all are doing well but one has a lump on her belly. Looks like a hernia from the umbilical cord. She hatched in the night and half the egg shell was stuck to her belly and dragging by the cord, so I presume this caused the lump around her navel. I managed to wet the shell enough to get it off without harming her, but she isn't eating or drinking for me and is crying a lot. Please help. I've put a generous amount of polysporin on the inflamed navel and isolated her from the rest because they were picking at her. What should I do?
