Hi all,
We're new to rabbits.

I have a little 2 month old buck (calif. mix) who looks like he broke his toenial. It looks like it's growing pointing up. I'm a bit nervous about it, but he seems sprite and he's way more active than the 2 does.

It is scaby. I have been washing it and cleaning it w/ alcohol & putting neosporin on it. But, I don't understand why it seems like it's pointing up. It's not bending that way. Maybe it was a birth defect that I didn't notice when I bought him. ??

Any ideas on what to do? Tractor Supply anti-biotics??

I have read NOT to give them amoxicillian. But, I thought there was another antibiotic that you could get for rabbits.....? Should I keep cleaning it the way I am, or try some other topical ointment?

It sounds like he doesn't need any antibiotics right now. I'm not sure about the toenail pointing up. Can you get a picture of it?

You wouldn't be able to see it in a picture. Not even sure it's a toenail. ?? :( Maybe I'll try later, if I can get a clear close-up.

Thanks.
