Hey guys,

What can cause clumpy poo? If it is heat and moisture, then there is my answer, but could it be something else?

Thanks,

Kelly

I would have a fecal done and check for the different parasites as well as coccidia. If nothing shows up in the fecal, then it is probably the heat. If something does show up in the fecal, then you can worm appropriately since you will know which worms your sheep has.

Thanks Karen,

I will call my vet and see if they do sheep fecals. If so, I will get them tested today. Will keep you informed.

Thanks again,

Kelly

Well, the sheep fecal came back pretty much clean. YEAH! I guess it is just the excessive heat we are having that may be causing the clumpy poo.

Thoughts?
Thanks,

Kelly

Different graze maybe? My sheep have been trimming the tops of my corn that they can reach from the other side of the fence for the last few days and this had turned their stool wet and clumpy.

Darn sheep!!!! :rant :somad :tongue :smack

I do not think so. They are still eating the same type grass as they were before. Nothing unusual or different that I know of.

Would not enough salt play with their poo at all?

I don't think that would cause clumpy poo, they'd just pee more.

True. I have no idea what so ever. All I know is that they are worm and parasite free. I guess that is the important part. :D
