4:00 club! Coffee is ready. Son rolled in late yesterday, bringing his lawnmower back. He keeps it here when he’s gone. I built a lean to behind the portable building for it. Then he walked me through running his 100HP Kubota, to set a round bale of hay. Second time I’ve been on it. I think I got it now. It has all kind of buttons, controls and fangled gadgets that I have no idea what they do, but at least I can set a round bale now. He’s leaving out this morning for west Texas.

Not far behind ya. Hating the dark early season. Cold 27 here, so prob ice on top of water to break. Filled everything late yesterday so plenty to drink until later warm up to top off. That time of year 🫤

Baked a big ham yesterday. Warm house. Shared with DD & DS. Will be eating that for a few days. Did some laundry, house cleaning, more today. First, coffee and check up on threads -- then I can begin. 👍

I’m having company this coming weekend. My friend Sarah and family, plus her mom, are coming. @Ridgetop snd DH are coming. We are cooking a Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner plus a White Elephant gift party. Coming Saturday are 4 more friends and we will have a lot of fun. I’ll be cleaning house this week. Although I sometimes wonder why, it’s a bigger mess after everybody leaves than it was before I cleaned it all up. Then I clean it again….. or just ignore it and go outside to play.

I slept later than 4, but as I had read until 1am, 6:30 wasn't exactly sleeping in.

I awoke to Cleo (our dog) moving around the bedroom, bumping into the bed. I heard her do a yawn/whine "rout", meaning she needed to go outside, and then I heard her urinating. Not like her at all! I grabbed her harness handle and tried to pull her down the hallway to the kitchen, but she was very stiff-legged. Went back to grab clothes so I could take her outside and less than a minute later she was walking around in circles, around a pile of 💩 on the kitchen floor. She was panting heavily, whining, and she shook and trembled. I brought her over to a chair, sat down and just kept petting her and talking to her. After about 15 minutes or so she stopped panting and settled down. Her head was tilted to one side, and when she tried to walk she "listed to starboard".

She's much better this evening, walking almost normal (for her) and acting almost normal. Her head is still tilted a little lower on the right side.

Looks like my sweet girl had a stroke. :hit

Welcome, Monday coffee time! :caf

Colder than norm this week. The lows at night are creating thin ice on water tubs. No biggie. Fill tubs late day & easy break in morning with their nose or my hand. Not like Jan/Feb when temps are that cold for several hours and I carry a hammer 😖

Tomorrow I have about 6 hr of job work. That's it for another week. Hope it warms back up, so I can get outside work done. Winds came with the cold. Hard to do things with that. 🫨

Tonight & tomorrow night, teens for temps 🤬
