Are y'all tired of the continuing dog saga yet?


I found a foster who will keep the dog until Thanksgiving, but I have to adopt him, first.

I'll be calling the shelter first thing tomorrow, have a specific person to ask for, to see if they will hold him til Tuesday.

Update:

Shelter will not hold dog for me
Shelter is not open tomorrow
Shelter can take my application after 1pm on Wednesday

Doesn't sound like they especially want to adopt out the dogs... and you having been a volunteer walker person... BE CAREFUL of what paperwork there is... DO NOT AGREE to all the inhome visits post adoption and things that gives them the right to come and take the dog back...
For that very reason I will not adopt from most of the shelters... They want total control over everything and then next thing you know they are in your business...

You peeps, especially @Poka_Doodle and @Weldman your temperature swings are mind blowing to me! We are pretty steady. This entire week, only 10 degree difference between our high and our low. So... low of 19, high of 29, etc.

When I applied to adopt at a rescue there was a question about after adoption visits. I thought He!! no, but I checked "no", still got approved. I also applied and was approved at the humane society, and the shelter in the county south of us. None of them stipulated "home visits", and I wouldn't agree to them if they did. But thanks for the warning.

I'm planning to leave work at noon on Wednesday so I can be waiting at the door when the shelter opens at 1.

Our swings here are about 20-30 degrees normally... 20 nights, days 40's-50's.... today was 30 to 44... it is already 28 and tomorrow is not supposed to get above 40 again...
I don't think I could take the swings in Montana either... but then again, I could not take the triple digit heat of TX for weeks on end....

Good evening all! Been up a bit. Made two blocks of mozzarella for the freezer and butter. Got a pumpkin in the oven baking for puree. Still have 10 or so left to get done and put up. Also started a load in the freeze drier of pears. Time for chores and milking. Hope y'all had a blessed day!

Montana keeps throwing test runs of winter at us I think. Low was 17, high of 50 today. Should be warmer the rest of the week, and next week in time for holiday travel it might be more like winter.
I don't think I could take the triple digits or anything like that, I will adapt and leave all my hoodies and jackets at work if I need for being here.
