Think I'll spray the coops' hinges and hasps with WD40. I could not get my shed open after the last freezing rain, when the lock froze.

Good idea! I usually use the WD40 with silicone. I think it works for longer with ice.

Afternoon all!
Tires ordered for DH's commuter. He's having heart palpitations over the fuel he's going through in the big truck.
CA prices make it even worse. Will have another set of truck tires balanced at the apt to pick up the new tires. So next work week he'll be back in his commuter. That will be very nice.
Picked up a load of alfalfa hayand some straw today for the dairy crew. The princess' don't want to get their feet wet 
and we're now having the calves WITH the our main milker to finish the grafting process (hopefully). So far so good. This will make the area they are in mucky quick so trying to get a jump on it. Plus this specific cow seeks out a pile of manure to lay her udder in. Hence the constant struggle with mastitis. 
She was a little off last night so have her on herbs to get a jump on it. I think she's flirting with mastitis again. Should have it stopped in it's tracks. Plus the calves appear to be keeping up with her production now. Yay! Now waiting on the heifer to calve so I can get the smaller calf onto her and off the our main cow. Any day now she should calve. Need to go do her nightly check here in a few.
DH couldn't sleep. He's been out working on the smaller stock trailer and his big truck all afternoon. I really don't like when he's this tired then driving to work in the dark on the windy roads, up all night then coming home when all the farm workers are heading to their fields with the sun coming up. It's a recipe for an accident. Even when he's not exhausted it's a dangerous commute home now. I'll probably stay awake worrying until he's home safely.
Supposed to get this nasty cold storm at home. Worried about things there. Not sure how everything will handle the extreme cold. Not being there through this is giving me anxiety. Previous owners should be coming through just after the storm so they are going to check everything out for us.
Talked to the title company today for our new home. Somehow our private purchase information is online on a specific "home" website. Everything was supposed to stay private. So I've been beating the bushes to see who let what get out. They are taking it seriously and going to contact the specific website and see what can be done. Got him worried about what information is out on his home purchase too. He apologized again and it felt sincere this time for all the problems with what apparently is now a former employee that happened around closing. He has told me I can contact him personally at any point in the future. So that was nice and fences are slowly being mended with people who did us wrong in all of this. Forgiveness is important but we won't forget. So we'll see what he comes up with tomorrow about how this site gets their information and how we can get it removed.
Guess it's time to go unload the hay and start taking care of the princess' for the night.

It's funny to read the local FB groups out here on when they ask if anyone else loses power or who has power on already. I like to reply back; I still got lights on, oh that's right I'm on solar, I never lost power 
Going on 7 years living off grid, started off with two 6V batteries and a generator, didn't even have internet or phone the first couple of years out here.
Thinking of going backwards and getting a mule with a cart for servicing customers out here.
Speaking of which, usually when it snows and tire tracks melt first to mud, not here. Snow blew away with the wind and left the tire tracks.
