@Margali Hope you are on second floor of apartment building. Have plenty of bottled water, and supplies. Is the parking lot in a semi high spot by any chance?
Or just do the sensible thing and get the heck out.
Just a FYI when house hunting, state law in Texas……. Seller DOES NOT have to tell you that the house or property floods. You must ASK and get it on paper.

I picked up son yesterday at Tyler airport. Easiest airport parking I’ve ever done. ONE terminal. ONE. Absolutely no confusion, no getting lost, go inside to lobby and sit in nice cushy chair to wait.
Our airport is like that. One gate, one baggage claim. All flights go to Charlotte first, but when I've flown in the past I felt it was worth the extra cost instead of driving to the chaos that is RDU (Raleigh/Durham), about 2 hours away.

Used to fly a lot. Now, haven't been on a plane in 20 yrs. 
No reason, no where to go.
Atlantic hurricanes -- yep, 60+ yrs on the coast. I've seen some things. I'm inland a little more now but, they can still be bad. In fact, the yr I actually built this house, one totally flooded the nearest town. Major happening. Major damages. The river running thru was the problem. Looked like some of the pics Bay posted of Trinity county.
Just getting to my first cup! Late for me. I started folding clothes first and...well, lots of farm jeans, shorts, shirts. Yeah, 2-3 sets per day with heat & sweaty changes. That's made for a pile of laundry.
We're still in the "hot enough to fry an egg" weather here. It's limiting for everyone & everything. Animals all lay in the shade a lot of the day. Good! Glad I have some trees for them. The evaporating moisture under them is cooling. Only going to 90 today -- a 10 degree drop from all weeks triples. I'll take it!

Drinking coffee, with another hint-of-a-heat-headache again. I mowed some yesterday despite the heat. Whew. Can't mow early morning, grass too wet, everything clumps and clogs. Might try doing about 15 minutes at a time, after lunch. At dusk the mosquitoes are vicious.
Going to check on the chicks before getting ready for church. BBL.
Oh, anyone know anything about Bio Gel? Another chicken keeper recommended it for Tamar's wing wound. Can't find much online.

Something to think profoundly on....
How very true.... how many spoiled irresponsible "kids"; that parents wanted them to have a "better easier life", wind up as adults with more problems and the inability to raise the children they were too irresponsible to have and care for....

I did my best raising my children. Daughter, who hated my "tough love" rearing is doing "tough love" with her children!
Son is still at home. I don't mind, he still is doing the housekeeping pretty well, good enough for hygenic reasons. On Friday evening he asked me how I was doing. He remembered it was Ron's birthday.
