But you're not 20 anymore.

My dh worked in a tire plant for 11 years, 120° above the rubber, humid. He earned every dollar.

You bring to light things that people don't know or appreciate for what our service members do!! What they're subjected to & must endure. It's not just a uniform & salute. My dad & his 5 bro were all Navy. Maternal side uncle Army & sharpshooter assignments. I appreciate everyone and their sacrifices. 👏
Should I mention the blinding sandstorms too, some days were tan, some pink and one time it looked like Mars. Started off pink, turned orange then red then went black.

Coffee is ready. I slept late. By the time I drink coffee, get dressed and get outside, it’s gonna be hot. Heck, it’s hot now.
I got home yesterday at 5, church starts at 6. I barely made it, but I got there.

Up. Drinking coffee. Yeah, slept late. Everything is wet outside. Yesterday's off & on was "on" during night until just before daylight. So tall grass is really wet!! Goats standing in shelters, thinking of ways to graze but, stay dry. 🤣 Plus it's overcast -- drying not happening soon. Morning chores are few, thankfully.

That's making this a "lazy day". Well, okay. I did a feed run yesterday. Ordered online for pickup that didn't happen until late -- between rains -- got it home & unloaded. Only 500# so not bad. I did go to work earlier in day, while it rained 😀

Nothing planned for any 7/4 celebrations. Just another day. But this is Thursday, so might go to the produce market auction tonight 🥴🤔 if I can remember. It's fun. No garden in, so may buy something. Home tomorrow to can some.

Yikes @Weldman seven fires?! Any ideas on how? Arson? Seven seems like way more than a natural event. And after a storm when things are wet???? Drone has to be up in the right place and at the right time to catch someone if that's the thought. But better than nothing I suppose.

Coffee done - first cup of the week (some stomach bug Sun/Mon - followed by I think I'll just hold of eating until yesterday). Starting with a high of 82 today, then pretty much 89-90 through the weekend with lows in the high 50s. We've had several fires lately - though thank God on county north (not really far, but far enough). Many starting within hours of each other - hmmmm. Thank God our firefighters are on these things like white on rice. They've saved us many times over. The electric company here (SDG&E) has eyes in the sky and observation tower cameras as well. Every little piece of the fire puzzle helps.

Poor Obi has an ear hematoma  not sure I'll be able to snag a vet appt today with the holiday tomorrow and through the weekend. Arnica seems to help a little.

Drone to spot the wildfires after a storm. Supposedly all lightening strikes.

The problem with tomorrow's holiday is every idiot and its cousins shoot off fireworks nonstop overnight, and through the weekend until they run out of ammo. My poor dog used to go spaz over the noise, only drugging her helped.

Give it a rest, cretins.

There's only one who might shoot a couple firecrackers off. Used to be 2, one family moved. But haven't had guns being used 👍 it's a pretty quiet area, primarily older families. Prob why so few have few to no animals or livestock. 🤷

I'm an exception & when goats kid it's fun to watch the cars slow to watch the young goats running & jumping. Some I know are grandkids in those cars. 😊

Been fighting the past 18 hrs wildfires that are hitting here with few thousand feet of my house. Firebreaks before mine that me another dozer and county dozer have been making. I’m actually saving the community literally now.
Most run from fires and shootings, I run to them.
