We won and I managed to help save the community. 560 acre fire, we only lost one camper from someones property to it in which it was abandoned, four properties went up in flames including mine with the water well on it. All is fine at the water well, I put a firebreak around it long before all of this happened.

We had a lovely 4th at Kemah boardwalk and Thai for a very late dinner. Unfortunately, I’m wide awake now with terrible heartburn and belches. Right now mattress is on floor instead of my angled bedfram which doesn’t help.

Yesterday's accomplishment was mowing the yard. Well 98% anyway. Last section has things to be moved first. Later today for that. It's all heavy dew right now. Plus, while inside mid day, did a batch of cheese, 2nd in 2 days, so frig has room now. Freezer stash is building nicely.

About 7-8 the neighbors across the street began target shooting -- ?? -- loud, booming stuff. Strange as I've not heard that before in yr they've been there . Maybe visitors. Strange. About 10 the one neighbor who does firecrackers ea year, once again. Maybe 15 min or so. Nothing drastic. Otherwise calm 4th of July. Another day.

Animals have planted 9 watermelon plants. They're not eating them but won't doo much as the grasses are so thick & tall they'll be crowded out. Seems goats aren't good garden tenders.

In the middle of all this chaos another pig dropped 12 piglets. I like this mother, she is protective of her babies and very attentive. With that said I can move her as needed just by waiting till she eats, grab the litter, make one squeal and off we go where I need her to go. Looks to be a third ready to drop soon.

I didn't think I did that much yesterday, but still felt leg cramps coming on overnight, they woke me up. I had to reapply DMSO to my left leg and foot to get them to calm down, and allow me to go back to sleep. DMSO has been a game-changer for me.


But I did get a tube of Arnicare for soreness, as per a recommendation from @Baymule .

Played with my bread dough this morning and these happened - just my plain no knead bread dough and some goodness applied (didn't have cream cheese so a little lemon juice and vinegar to the rescue).

Feeling better and waiting for everyone to wake up. Silly me didn’t consider that I’m mildly lactose intolerant before indulging in a giant Thai coconut ice cream sundae, oops.

It’s probably been said and done already but take a moment for the flood victims in central Texas. I’m not near the area but Hubbs and I canoed the Guadalupe years ago.
