I have a month old holstien call and has a bad cough.
Treated with penicillin as the local feed store suggested. He dose not have runny nose as many people say if it has pneumonia. Been treat for three days and not gotten better. Any advice want be great.
Thank you

Penicillin is no longer the drug of choice for respiratory problems. I would get either Draxxin or Nuflor for a calf that's coughing like that. Question: Is the hay/feed excessively dusty? If so, perhaps this is the problem. Also, I'd advise that you consult a veterinarian.

I consulted a veterinary person and he said that I was feeding the bottles of ill to high and that he felt they got a bit of mill in lungs. He have shot of nuflor just in case but said that they should be fine in a couple days with the bottle feeding lower . Thank you for your advise
