So I cruise Craigslist instead of Facebook and sometimes come across things that make me wish we could leave comments. Poor sheepies!

It's toxic in a high amount, but sheep still need copper.
Ohh, I didn't know that. Every time I'm looking for goat mineral, I see so much literature about not giving it to sheep because copper is toxic, and I *thought* that meant toxic at any level. Thanks for the lesson!

Sheep require a certain amount of copper in their diets. A pregnant ewe requires more copper for the developing fetus or the lambs are born with major problems. Too much copper is toxic to sheep because it accumulates in the liver and cannot be gotten rid of by the sheep's metabolism. No copper results in a copper deficieny that can be just as deadly if not caught in time.

I am not sure what ppm copper is in the Selenum 90. But for this person to have bought 30 50 lb. bags sounds like they were worried about Selenium levels in their flock. 1500 lb. of Selenium 90 sounds like a lot of mineral to buy at one time.
