Yikes, that stinks that you have a big ole hole in your post. I love the looks of those woodpeckers but they are sure destructive when they decide to go after prey inside a part of your house.

We had that happen this summer, too:( I went from 'you can't shoot a woodpecker!' to 'Did ya get him yet?' in under a day.:lol:

The tree you see in the background is a lovely big producing PECAN TREE. He had started trying to kill it by pecking all the bark off the tree this past spring but I could never catch him at it when DH was home.

So not only was he pecking holes in my house, he was trying to kill my lovely big pecan tree.

So long, woodpecker......
