Does anybody have experience with disbudding with local anaesthesia?
Any tips? How hard is it to get the nerve?
And yes, I know lidocaine can be very dangerous in the wrong amounts. We were going to use 1 ml 2% lidocaine with epinephrine diliuted with 3 ml of sterile water. Then divide that into 4 doses of 1 ml, one for each injection site.

Thank you!

When we used the nerve block (we were WITH our vet) it was given in the browbone area. Personally I didn't feel comfortable with it. I had a hard time feeling the V and it was such a small area and by the eye ... I just smiled at my vet and said nope- you do it!

Truthfully by the time we did all that- the burn would have already been done and over with. Just restraining the goat for that was enough...

I do recommend you do this WITH your vet a few times first. This way you can see if you are really ready and your vet can too.

You will need a very fine needle. ;)
