I don’t believe she’s ever had piglets before, she was 7 months when we got her which was idek how long ago😅Yep.
If she's not it would be awfully odd.
As for how soon...I'd say soonish, but not until you decide she's just going to be pregnant forever...unless you're not ready for piglets and then it could be tonight.
Depending on how quickly she's changing and if she's had piglets before I'd say within the next week to two weeks, but possibly just within the month. Pigs are hard to guesstimate.
Well, the girls should be old enough to breed. I’m surprised that they are pregnant because we got him at eight weeks old and I was told that he wouldn’t attempt to breed them for the next couple months…yea I’m a little surprised, but not worried because they’re big healthy girls. I’m new to this, we’ve certainly had pigs before, but they were always feeders.Probably 2 weeks off at most... first time gilts will swell a bit before and the udder needs to get more swollen and tight... if he has been with them ever since you got him, then why would you even question that she could be bred, or be surprised that she is???? If young buck goats and ram lambs can breed at 3 months... and you don't keep them together ... which only encourages the hormones to become more active... Whoever said that about the male pig is not very well versed in their actual abilities... we always separated our "large breed" boar pigs by 3 months... and they tend to take an extra month or 2 to be fertile...than the smaller breeds... Gilts can and do come in heat as young as 4 months, most by the time they are 6-7 months...
