Driving Bridles----Buy or Pass?

Hi everyone! I am going to be training my mini horse, Toby, to drive. I've been looking for used bridles/harnesses and came across these 2 well-used driving bridles for $7. I noticed rust on the bits and am wondering if I should just pass on these?
I've cropped the photo so you can see each bit up close.

I would pass. I would worry about the leather being rotted or weak from not being oiled and cared for.
