our boulder planter area, all of those were once where our house sits now.
We've got a lot of that as well. There's one the grader saved out as special -- it's almost like a chair. I'll have to take a pic for you.

Most all of the boulders were sent down the hill. ROTFL one - and I was there to see it - was like Flintsone bowling - took out a palm tree way down the hill (palm trees = roman candles in fire season).

That would have been a sight to see, to bad you didn't get that on video. I love palm trees, but didn't know they turned into Roman candles.

My fil asked us what we were going to do with all of those rocks, every single time he was here. Hubs would tell him, they were staying where they were. I guess he didn't like how we used them...lol

Our front lawn is filled with them, we had so many. We did kind of kick ourselves later for doing that, we could have used them in so many places.

The sweet gum tree is coming down tomorrow. I will miss it's shade and beautiful leaves. I won't miss the spiny seed pods or the roots that are lifting our sidewalk.

Planting something else in it's place?
Not right away. It will be hard to remove the stump. We might just put some sort of planter there for now. Maybe a gazebo. I love sitting out there in the evening during the hot Summer and beautiful Fall days.

You could plant a redbud or dogwood. They stay small, flower in the spring and give shade in summer.
Either one of those would be very pretty.💗 We might eventually plant something like that. The trunk is pretty large and Dale doesn't have time to try and remove it right now. Tree trunks can make a nice planter, so I think that's what we'll do for now, so that its not an eyesore.
