Using gelatin as a drench.
There is a commercial electrolyte that contains psyllium seed. It seems to work well in calves that are still drinking well, but you have about a minute before it gets too thick to deal with. I've come across recipes that use Metamucil with the idea that the thickening helps to hold the fluid in their stomachs longer and the psyllium helps to sweep e. coli bacteria out.
