:thumbsup cool thread. would love to hear more on how things are going.

i have milk goats and my family had up to 6 milk goats. but i am possibly moving over to dairy cow as in my situation it seems it will be better and easier with one cow versus what would be 5 milk goats.
anywho, would love to hear more :pop

quick tips though...
definitely get her friendly or at least able to handle before she calves out. you will want to get your routine going before she calves so she will know what to do already without any stress on you guys or the cow. i do this with the goats. month they are due i start feedin them on the stand like will be doing once i start milking them after they kid out. this way they get the routine down. and while the cow/goat is standing where you will be milking then get her used to you touching her udders and all.
i've found this makes things MUCH easier then to take a first time mom and do everything at once.
