Hello all,

Our miniature Jersey steer is six months. He eats Bermuda hay, 1/2 gallon of milk (weaning him), and about nine pounds of Purina Precon RX6. He's a little "lush" which we don't mind since winter is coming soon.

This guy is a beloved pet, not food.

How long do we keep him on the cow chow (Precon)?

What is the next step? What do you feed your adult cows? We have dry lots and don't have access to pasture.

Thank you!

Holly and Rob

I would wean to hay and pellets. Pellets fed once or twice a day depending on what works with your schedule.

I am not familiar with the pellets you are using...

I would pick a cattle growth pellet until he is full grown, then switch to a dry cow/adult pellet.
