I just got a Flemish Giant Doe from some people who could no longer keep her. I've had one before but it's been awhile and I don't know all that much about them.
Just wanted to see if her fur was normal shedding or mites...
I haven't seen her itch and there are no chunks of hair missing, so I assume the patches of color is just normal shedding?

Also, how do I gauge how old she is?
I was told 7 months, but you never know.

Was your FG kept inside or outside ? Mine that I raise are outside off the ground, I haven't seen the fur like that before, but we are in Florida. Are you in a cold state ?

Mostly inside, but she apparently had a huge cage/run that she went out in as well.
I'm in TN it's been reeeally hot.

my last flemish never looked like this so I'm just kind of confused

It could be that she's just molting...
Usually fur mites start behind the ears, you'll see scabs and red, irritated skin and she'd be itching a lot.
My rabbits started molting already, usually it happens in the fall but oh well!
I'm in Tennessee too and it's been WAY hot!
But check out some pictures of molting rabbits and it looks pretty similar. Some just molt different than others :)

And it's pretty hard to tell how old a rabbit is when it's past 'teenage stage'...
But your girl looks around 7 months to me! She's definitely no younger than that...but she doesn't look over a year :)
