Lydia died of a crop issue last year, so there's only Abigail and Naomi left.

Monday Updates
Argentinian Zapallito squash still putting out!
Yesterday I froze 8 bags of squash, each with 2 cups pre-blanching. It's very similar in texture and taste to zucchini. And the squash vine borers haven't killed it yet!

Picked two more pumpkins, but the larger one was rotting already.

Technically from yesterday...

I saw something today that warmed my heart.
I open the brooder door about 5:45am, when I leave for work. Naomi and the chicks roam the coop until roosting time. I have not seen much pecking of the chicks, just little "wait your turn" stuff.
Today I brought them a little mashed tuna fish. The chickens love it, and the chicks were darting in and grabbing specks as the adults were eating. Silas picked up a piece, hesitated, then offered it to a chick!!!
What a GOOD ROO!
