She could have gotten something in the leaf mixture that made her sick/poisoned her? You may never know...
Leaves in the yard, that's all.

I'm thinking she might have lash egg or other reproductive issues, she's not laid an egg since late summer.

I do not smell infection, and I have a pretty sensitive nose.

No oil of oregano here, but I have some growing outside.

Esther drank, and ate a little mash, and then walked around a little.

And fussed at me when I picked her up!

Clean crate, fresh water, a little mash.

Esther was about the same today, pecked some at the mash, drank a little.

I bought red grapes at the store...

Esther perked up for grapes, BIG time. She started walking around the room!

So I decided to take her outside for fresh air, and see how she reacted. The other hens and Silas came over to check out the crate. I threw some feed down, and Esther came out. The Dominiques reestablished their pecking order, Esther retreated to Silas' side, who did his little wing dance  but the D-hens then left her alone. I threw down some BOSS and crushed egg shells, and they all started scratching and feeding, including Esther. The Dominiques pecked at her, she moved away. But she looked very happy to be back with them.

Drinking!

One thing I noticed about Esther outside that I hadn't inside is that she appears to be straining. She is eliminating, not constipated, so I'm thinking egg issue. I didn't feel an egg previously, but I think I will bring her back in at dusk, give her her Corid, check her vent again, and possibly give her an epsom salt bath soak. And a lady, who has been very helpful in the past, suggested giving Esther a calcium +D3 regimen. I have done that before with hens laying shell-less eggs...and had success.

I may just keep her inside for the night, forecast is for very cold temps.

I have had hens that retained eggs inside. I cut them open to find compacted eggs inside. These were old hens that hadn't laid in a long time. I just thought they were old and was butchering them for the stew pot. I threw the carcass away.
