Amazing how quickly it grows...

I really do love your yard. Especially the little pond. Great photos.! 💞

Hubs just bought me a small pond liner for Mother's Day. I can't wait to get it set up. It's going by the Apiary as a water source for the bees.

Sorry it's such a constant battle to keep the vegetation at bay. That would get really old, really fast.

Thanks! There are actually two ponds, both are preform types, about 100 gallons each. They attract a lot of wildlife, but I added minnows years ago to keep the mosquitoes at bay.

Before and after today:

The advantage to getting 48" of precipitation in USDA zone 8a is everything grows, and for most of the year. I have the tools now to keep things under control.

But you can see why I despise wisteria.

WOW!! You're going full speed ahead!
But, look at the back side...

Forecast for tomorrow is rain, so I'll put this task on the list for Friday, or Saturday. It should be fairly simple using my hedgeclippers, and hand pruners as needed.

Did I mention how much I despise wisteria?

See it girding the tree, all the way up?

See the cut I made?

It was more than 2" in diameter. And it could have killed the tree.

From yesterday, about half of what was in one 4'x4' raised bed.

I gave the tops to the flocks, ooh! Happy chicks!

I rinsed the excess dirt off the carrots, put them in a plastic bag, and placed it in the refrigerator drawer.

This morning I tipped roots and tops from my last carrot pull a couple weeks ago. They went in the bottom of a slow cooker with a wedge of onion, then I added a pound plus piece of chuck roast I had in the freezer. After putting in some water I turned the heat on low.

The outlet hose has a slight uphill path to the pond so it needed a shake to get started this morning.

The ferals have been napping on the tops of the rainbarrels, and the screens were loosening, so I put light items in place to discourage the behavior.

It doesn't impede water flow.

Got portulaca transplanted before the rain.

On the right side is a Japanese maple seedling I found growing next to the tree in the front yard. I carefully dug it up before it was mowed, and transplanted it next to a lantana. If it starts growing I will move it to another pot.
