Love the pictures. Do you have a favorite place to sit and enjoy the beauty of all your work?
When the mosquitoes are tolerable I like sitting in the shade of the chicken run, watching them scratch around.

I have a couple old pool chairs that I move to the shade so I can enjoy the gardens view.

Sometimes I will sit by the pond, too.

In this photo you can see a stone bench on the left, and my storage bench to the right. Both are actually comfortable, except when the mosquitoes get active!

I have gnats, 2 different types, and biting flies. Annoying.
And fire ants? In years past they made a colony inside the storage bench, would attack me if I sat there. 🔥

If yellow jackets and fire ants disappeared forever I wouldn't complain about mosquitoes. Well, not as much? Ours are tiny stealth mosquitoes, you never feel them bite.

Mounds and mounds of fire ants! And no tiny stealthy mosquito, mine are big, loud and proud. Red wasps, if they nest elsewhere, ok, house, shed or areas where I am, they get sprayed.

No mosquitos here (we do have the blood sucking politicians of course) some flies though they don't bite and same for gnats. Every time I think about changing states you all start talk of critters I don't like. I know just deal with it!

I figured you would have fire ants! I still am using the Texas Two-step method of controlling them. First is birth control pellets, second is poison for survivors. Two years ago I treated some 50+ fire ant hills in my backyard (1/6 acre) and now I am treating one here, one there.

I don't want to deal with earthquakes, I would rather just deal with things I can kill.

Have you tried tossing those skeeter things in the water to help keep them from breeding in it? The water pump in my whiskey barrels keeps them out of there. I get it though, they are everywhere. They are so bad here the cattle lose weight so they have to spray
