Is this a milk cow or heifer that you have handled? DS3 had 2 replacement heifers at different times both raised as calves. We would put up temporary hot wire on the field when there was grass for them. We used to halter them and lead them back to the corral at night so did not leave them in the temporary enclosure. It was sort of flimsy, just a hot wire tape running through PVC pipes. The PVC pipes were on rebar that we drove to the ground. We used a solar powered charger on it. Had to teach the calves/heifers that the wire was hot but once they learned they were fine inside it. They never had any opportunity to knock it down or get out though since we cold see them and the enclosure from the windows. We would move the enclosure as they grazed down the area.
