I'm curious if geese will run away, if you are letting them forage and also not pinioning, trimming flight feathers on one wing etc? (I forgot the right word for this, but people do it with ducks and chickens without hurting the wing.)
Why would they stay if they can go at any time somewhere else? And what do you think about this? Part of what makes me so curious about this is that their instinct to migrate seems like it could be quite powerful with some breeds.
And I'm curious why their flight ability is so much stronger and better than say domesticated ducks? Its odd to me that geese can fly long and powerful migration flights but ducks don't seem to be as flight energy efficient, etc?
So curious...
