Hi all!

Sime of our friends are moving away.
They gave us their 4 big rabbits, and entire setup before they go.
I believe they’re meat rabbits? But don’t remember the specific breed.🤷‍♀️

She said I can breed them, but might want to thin them out first…
How do I do that?

Also, what do yall suggest I do for a run for them to play in?

Any other tips for breeding/handling new mamas?

Thanks everyone!!🫶

Here they are!

Looks like meat rabbits. Probably New Zealands. Do you know which are girls and which are boys?

I have some breeding pairs of rabbits, what worked for me is separating out the girls from boys. Aim for a breeding day that’s on the cooler temp side or in the early morning at sunrise. A week before you breed mama add some kind of black sunflower seeds to her food (about a tablespoon morning and night.) pop the buck you want to breed her with in *her* pen, watch them and make sure she’s relaxed when he goes in. Remove the buck after about 20mins to an hour. The gestation period is about a month. A week before she has babies she’ll build a nest (make sure to get her a nesting box, I got one for like 30 bucks at cal ranch) a day or so before she has them she’ll pull fur to line the nest. Once she has her babies i wouldn’t recommend touching them to much for the first week or two. Rebreed after 5-ish weeks of her having babies. My babies have weaned off their mama on their own but you may need to wean them off yourself. Let me know if you need to know anything else! :3
