GLENMAR FARM JORUNAL

We bought a 35 acre farm in Virginia in 2010. I came there with horses. My partner came with a dream. LOL.
We decided to get chickens first, as most folks do. She did all the gardening while I was in charge of animals.

The farm was named Glen Mar by us. Glenna was her mother's name and Margaret was my Grandmother. We used a combination of their names for the farm.

I am going to give more background on the farm, but my current issue is peafowl. I wanted a few to free range when we got the farm. It's been 15 years and I just realized that I had 29 !! I'm trying to sell the back 25 acres and just keep the house and 10. Some people looked at the property and talked to the neighbors who apparently told them the birds were noisy. Therefore I'm catching and selling them for a very cheap price.

I've caught 23. Sent 17 to new homes, another 5 leaving Thursday. That will leave me one boy cooped and 6 more still free ranging. Not too bad considering I started catching them the weekend before Thanksgiving.
