GLENMAR FARM JORUNAL

The house looks nice, but not sure I'd put it in the woods. If this comes to happen - know that where the bulldozers go, everything goes. They are not looking to preserve what's there. They (big equipment operators) like easy access, if something is NOT roped off (literally roped off) to keep chances are it'll be dozed. In IL we built a house on a wooded acre. When all was said and done WAY MORE trees were flat out gone. Big oaks, maples - it was sad. Probably 1/2 left in woods maybe. Besides the footprint for the house. if they're not hooked up to sewer trees will have to come down for the septic field. The bigger the house, the bigger the septic field. You probably already know all that - but always good to just mention it.

Last pigs I raised for freezer were the AGH ones. Excellent meat! So smaller pigs at 140-150 hanging. However, perfect size really. After cut & PKG (at home) it was perfect. Smaller hams, etc but plenty large enough. Thinking this fall I'll start 2 more. Too late for now as summers are hot & pigs don't sweat, so waiting to start any. My small beef might be just a big goat

I'm assuming this is one of your steers? If so I'd love to see some pictures of steaks etc if it's not to much trouble. I'm very curious about this breed.
Will post photos. It was a 22 month bull. I don’t have a chute. So no neutering. I suppose I could band day old calves, but I also sell some as breeding stock.

Brae on her way to her new home. Looking down on her in the trailer. :love
She loaded great.

Yard girl was there to help. I gave her $300 today for helping pen the heifer and
for helping catch Orla the last week hold her so I can give her meds. She then started asking for
more $$ for a fence project that I don't even have the materials for yet.:rolleyes: Really?? I think I have been
more than fair. I'm not her cash cow ( no pun intended)

She had to come 5 or 6 times for Orla. She only lives like 2 miles away. I am generous only because I count on being able to call her at the last min. if I have an issue. That's why I got irritated today when she started to beg for more $$
