Hey everyone! I need some advice on goat collars. I have two Nigerian Dwarf goats - one buck, one doe. They are not used to be handled and are only semi-tame. They will come up to you, but don't generally let me touch them. This means that I can't trim hooves, check them over for injuries, etc.... I have a farm call coming up in a few weeks with our vet to do annual vaccinations & Coggins for our horses. She will also do annual vaccinations for the goats which means I'm going to have to figure out how to keep them restrained. Can anyone give me some recommendations about collars or halters? I'd like to order something in the next week which would give me time to corner them in their goat house at night and maybe get one of these contraptions actually ON them well before the vet visit.

Thanks!

Dog collars will work, although personally I buy the thin little green collars from TSC

I just used dog collars...

If you tie the collar up tight against a fence... and then hobble the back legs .. they are pretty stuck...

There are a bunch of cool YouTube videos on restraining goats...
