I am feeding two orphaned lambs right now. Did your orphan get colostrum? There is a narrow window of opportunity for the lambs to get their first milk. Without it, they die. Some feed stores carry powdered colostrum, it works too.

The formula I use is:

1 gallon whole milk from grocery store.
Cultured buttermilk
Evaporated milk

Pour out 2 cups of the whole milk.
Add 1 cup cultured buttermilk
Add 1 can evaporated

put the cap on the milk and shake it up. Keep refrigerated.

I’ll have to go to my lambing thread for how much and how often. Be right back.

Welcome from WV! I've always wanted to go to Montana and if I had to live anywhere but here, that would be the state I would choose. Nice to have another sheep person here! I hope your lamb does well and you get more!

She's hanging in there so far! I've made some changes and things are going well! Whew! She's such a doll. I'm loving having her in the house with us. Never thought I would say that! LOL!! If you ever get to Montana let me know! :)
