will my beef calf make good prediter deterant for my chickens ......i got them kinda all tied together in a fenced area chicken runs on the side of my bull pen ...and i was thinking leaving the garage door open allnight for the calf.thinking that maybe a coon or something might just walk right by him for the chickens...i got all the animals setup in my 24'x48' pole building

Not sure I would use him as a guard animal. If he is awake he may try to play with the coon or small prediator and hence chase them away but, if he's asleep he probably won't know a thing.

burros, donkeys and lamas make good watch guards, so do geese. Our burro "Donkeyhoate was a great watch dog/donkey. Geese sound an alarm that you can't miss.

Good luck
