Alrighty folks, I have a couple of pictures of steers who are of unknown breeding (well, at least one is). Lets see who can get it right, or who's closer. :)

#2:

Here he is again:

He's a little darker in this picture (same steer on the far-left):

Him again in the middle:

I called him Blackie btw. :)

Those are the ones I can find, I know there's a few others that may take a little guesswork to figure out. ;)

#2 Mebe a Hereford Charolais cross? Or Simmental Hereford? We've got a cow that looks exactly like him, minus the white face and the closes we can figure she is, is Sim/Char

#1 Looks like my Speckles!! Ayershire/Angus or Beef bred Shorthorn

#3 Sim/Angus?

love the thread:

1: maybe some shorthorn, or a hereford/char/sim cross?

2: char or char cross

3: red angus/angus cross, maybe some guernsey?

#1 Shorthorn! We have a couple of milking shorthorn at the farm I milk at--one looks a whole lot like this (but 'milkier' build!) We also have a couple of milking shorthorn who have a lot more white and one that is almost red. We have jersey bulls, quite a few jersey cows, and (apparently) an attempt to have at least one of everything. And then the next generation is cross bred. I think my favorites are Ayrshire / jersey crosses.

Now now Cricket don't go hijacking the thread on us. ;)

You folks are relatively close some more than others, keep the guesses coming! :D

#1, Shorthorn steer.
#2, Charolais X red Simmental or possibly Hereford.
#3, Probably a Red Angus cross, or possibly a red Shorthorn.

Shorthorns can be many colors, even white. Dark red, roan and roan and white are the most common. As to the Charolais, their gene is very complicated, but will usually cause a diluted tan color with a distinctly white face in Hereford or red Simmental crosses. They are usually a smoky color when crossed with a black Angus.
