Does anyone have any good leads on how to successfully train goats to not be so crappy with halters. The pulling back and refusing to budge is getting old and I’d love if you can give any advice on how to make it a better experience for them and me

Treat them as you would a horse.

If they pull back then make them circle.

If you don't have horse experience, you can use most dog training experience on a goat... the huge difference between dogs and goats is predator verses prey mentality.

If that doesn't help, I would suggest a basic book on horse training, just the ground work obviously.

Goats are incredibly intelligent. They are easily trained, but they are also very stubborn, so it dies take some work.

They are highly food motivated. A handful of sunflower seeds, cherrios or whatever, can be used in training. But do not let them jump on you, climb on you, or nip you.
