Welcome from VA. Ooooh milk cows -- I think "BUTTER" I have dairy goats. Love the milk, cheeses, yogurt but, butter not as tasty. Although sweeping pellets is better than shoveling plops.

If you go to your name, top right, click down to account details, and down to location... put a general location, state, etc... it helps anyone making comments, offering help, even talking about the weather, more relevant to answers... This will show up on your avatar... as you can see, we are scattered all across the country and yet are a very "close" group on here... Many of us "prime" members have trouble remembering what day it is , let alone try to remember where everyone is located.....

Do you have experience with dairy cattle? How old are the swiss cows? Are they milking already? Are you needing alot of milk? Please just remember that although they are like big puppy dogs, they are cows... and if they are not mature now, they will get BIG and they will eat alot. They are the biggest of the dairy breeds and there are some things about this breed that requires some extra considerations. One thing, they can be very stubborn... more stubborn than other breeds.... they are a beautiful animal but like anything, they have their quirks...

Definitely true! It is the only reason why so many people keep farming and ranching even when they have to have secondary jobs to support it! It is in your blood or it isn't.
