Hay for goats

I have 3 goats, they eat 4lbs a day how many square bales of hay do I need for winter approx 6 months

Depends on the weight of the bales.
3 goats at only 4 lbs a day is very little hay- even if these are Nigerians.

Location of where you are will also factor in because if it is very cold your goats are going to need more.

I just did the math...each of my Alpine goats eat 3.3 lbs of hay a DAY. :ep

4lbs of hay per day day for 6 months (182 days)
50lb bales 15 bales
75lb bales 10 bales
100lb bales 8 bales

I am going to assume you meant 4lbs per goat per day so the figures above would be per goat.
Total amount you would need
50lb bales 45 bales
74lb bales 30 bales
100lb bales 24 bales

@Goat Whisperer It is not free choice but I fill the feeders up twice a day so pretty close. They do get 75-100 lbs of pellets a day, the does do, not the bucks. And the goats in milk get about 2 lb of grain a day too.
