Hi all!
One of our heifers is acting strange today and is standing “parked out” (similar to a horse with laminitis or founder). She has been somewhat lethargic and didn’t eat as much as she usually does this morning. She is a Holstein/angus, approximately 16 months old, not bred. She can walk and run fine, but when she’s standing still, she’s stretched out as mentioned above. She got JumpStart and I dewormed her today….any thoughts about her standing this way? 🤔
Sorry about the terrible picture quality…had to zoom in! I’ll try for a better picture later today.

Has she been in heat? Could be some injury, soreness in the hindquarters from being ridden if she is in with other cattle and has been in heat and they were riding her.... a little hard to judge but could also have some worms and gotten impacted? Has she had normal manure? Peeing okay? Could have something in a foot but that is not likely... Closeup observation would be more helpful...still sounds like something in the back/spine.

I haven’t noticed signs of heat, but I know she is cycling because I’ve seen her in heat before! We do have other cows with her (some larger jerseys) so that’s actually very possible.
I haven’t seen her manure yet today, but she was peeing ok! Here’s another picture….excuse the wood around her, she decided to hang out in the most inconvenient spot 😂

Did you ever figure out what her issue was? How is she now?
