My name is Jay and i'm new here. Thought i would join here too and see what i can learn from here. I've been thinking about getting a few goats to raise. Not sure yet. I do have a small 2 story building out back that i could use the bottom of for a goat house. It's actually a hunting blind on the second story. Anyways, that's it for now.

Welcome from east Texas. I raise Katahdin hair sheep. There are lots of goat people here and they are great mentors. Go read the goat forum and study past posts, there is tons of good information.

Hi Jay, glad you joined us here. I joined BYH to learn more about goats, but I've not gotten any yet!

But I do have chickens. And I'm in eastern NC, aka ENC.

Welcome from VA. I raise goats, meat & dairy type. Use goat meat, milk for drinking, cheese & butter. Have chickens for eggs, occasionally meat. Raise a garden. Try to provide a high percentage of my own food -- naturally & chem free as much as possible.
