We have a momma (name is Jesse not sure exactly how old but approx 3yrs old) and her two babies (Duke & Daisy who are 18 months old) All has been fairly well except last week momma, Jesse, starting acting funny. Won’t eat her small amount of feed we give them am/pm. Then she just sits on the ground, after making herself a nice hay bed, when normally they all sleep on the wood platform. But she won’t go out into the pasture right away. Seems disinterested in food altogether.
So I’ve been giving her electrolytes, Nutri-drench, probiotics, dewormed all 3 of them since they were due, and she almost seemed better then we went away this weekend and a friend stayed here and watched the homestead. She told me on Saturday night that Jesse was breathing funny and her nose was wet.

So this morning, sure enough this is the first time we’ve seen her breathing so fast. Her nose is damp, not green just a little wet but her breathing is troubling.

Help? Advice?
Thank you

Greetings and welcome to BYH! So glad you joined us. Sorry your goat is having an issue that brought you here. Have you taken it's temp? Above 103 indicates a fever and probable infection. If so, then antibiotics might be indicated. I couldn't really tell anything from the video... Sorry... There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
