Hooves

I recently purchased a 6mo old goat. She needed her hooves trimmed. I have a before and after pic of what I did. This is my first year raising goats. My question is, am I supposed to trim at the back of the hoof? I have had my other doe from 8weeks old and have kept up with her feet. She doesn't seem to have this ridge at the back, her frog is smooth all the way back.

Yes, remove that extra "rubber" on the heel. All should be flush with the pad.

Looks like you need to cut off that excess toe as well. Dig out that filth.
